Abytawe Abyssinians Holly Golightly, as a kitten, small pic, sitting on top of light

Holly Golightly

Sweet, courageous, strong, unafraid, curious, inquisitive, adventurous, affectionate, sleek, a gorgeous blue female Abyssinian. Never enough words to describe my gorgeous Aby girl. She is definitely the boss of her brother Fortunati and often lets him know it!

Our Story

Mew, our pet tawny Abyssinian, sitting in the bowl on the coffee tableAbytawe's reason for being

Abytawe started basically because of Mew, shown right, our pet tawny Abyssinian who took over the running of our Central Coast home and our family life in 2000 when my son started kindy. As Pokemon was the flavour of the day, he named him Mew. (Pokemon lovers, you'd understand!).

Mew was so dearly loved by all of us, a treasured member of our family for 11 years. Sadly, Mew passed away 21 September, 2011 after finally losing his fight with pancreatitis, but only after intensive vet care and my tube feeding him for a month. Dear Mew, he will always be missed.

And so our love for Abyssinians continued along with the quest to have another! Thanks to George & Julie Kennedy of Nile Abyssinians, and in particular CCCA Gr Ch & Diamond Dbl Gr Ch Nile Holly Ghost, and Wendy Newton & Ben White’s Swift Rock The Kasbah, we became proud owners of not just one kitten but two, Nile Holly Golightly and Nile Fortunati, on 1 April 2012.
We have been enjoying going to many shows since then and achieving great results!

GD CH Nile Holly Golightly had her first litter last year and is now expecting her next litter, due mid April.

Our aim is to continue going to shows and to breed healthy and happy Abytawe offspring!

Lovely Mew ... he is the one who made us fall in love with Abyssinians ... such a character, such beautiful colour. He made us laugh so much, and he gave us so much joy throughout his 11 years. Every bit of him was just gorgeous.
